The Martin Review provides our candidates with test taking skills and comprehensive* nursing content lectures that can be successfully applied to any nursing exam. The review program is conducted in a classroom style environment and focuses on the components of the NCLEX-RN® test plan (see below). The Martin Review program adapts when the NCLEX exam format or content changes to make sure our students receive the most up to date information. While the course was developed for NCLEX-RN® candidates, it is a nursing review and NCLEX-PN®, CGFNS, ATI,
and HESI candidates are welcome to attend and will benefit from the course. Our success is not limited to just one type of exam! The nursing content we teach is applicable to any exam, the primary difference is how each exam requires you to apply the information. NCLEX-PN®, CGFNS,
ATI and HESI candidates will receive additional materials during the course, specific to that area of study. Our instructors will teach you how to apply the knowledge you gain to your specific exam.
Since the exams consist of multiple-choice questions at the cognitive levels of knowledge, comprehension, application and analysis, similar style questions will be given in each session so the candidates will gain experience answering them. Four major categories of client needs organize the content of the NCLEX-RN® Test Plan. Therefore the review will focus heavily on these major dimensions:
- Psychosocial Integrity - Topics include concepts related to client care and mental health disorders.
-
Physiological Integrity -
Topics include respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological and endocrine disorders, nutrition and elimination or gastrointestinal and genitourinary disorders, mobility, sexual and sensory functioning.
-
Health Promotion and Maintenance -
Topics include the maternity client and her family.
-
Safe, Effective Care Environment -
Topics include growth and development and how to create a safe and effective care environment for the adult and child client.
Candidates receive a review folder, course handouts, course manual, study question book and multiple choice exams. Materials are picked up on the first day of class. Candidates will take a minimum of 12 multiple-choice exams to test their knowledge on the topics covered in class. The course manual outlines all of the topics covered during the course and includes the notes and important information Dr. Martin has collected over her career. The study question booklet is an invaluable tool consisting of sample exam questions and topics directly related to the NCLEX test plan. This information is developed by Dr. Martin and our faculty to create a challenging collection of material for our new students. Students tell us frequently that when they review the material in the Study Guide and answer all the questions, they are prepared for the topics that appear on the exam. This volume is constantly growing and changing with new material added for each class. Dr. Martin will also recommend textbooks and software, while not required, that the student may find useful for their studies.
The Martin Review can provide an exit exam for ATI or HESI candidates, course grade certification letters for your school, or certificates of attendance for job reimbursement. Just ask! *(based on NCSBN exam content listing) |
